Hypo-Allergenic Diet

Food allergy is gaining interest at present, clinical studies on certain food and food preparation had demonstrated some to be allergenic to man. Hypo-allergenic diet is protein in nature. Protein foods are likely to cause allergy, the way foods prepared must be given attention. Food colorings, colored foods, sweets are also allergenic.

Hypo-allergenic diet is usually given to individual who develop reactions to certain foods, those with asthma, given particularly to children with ski trouble, etc.

Vegetables
All allowed except those in avoid list
Tomatoes, Kamote, Eggplant and Beans
Fruits
Banana, Papaya and other fruits
Pineapple, Peanuts, Kasuy, Watermelon and Chico
Beverage
Tea, Fruit Juices and Coffee
Milk Chocolates and Cola Drinks
Cereals
Plain Oatmeal, Soda Crackers, Biscuits, white bread, and plain rolls.
Cakes, Pastries, doughnuts and bakery products
meat
Beef, fresh fish like bangus, dalag, hito, biya, and talakitok
Eggs, chicken, shellfish like Crabs, lobster, squid oyster and clams
 -preserved food such as dried dilis, smoked fish, fresh alamang and daing
  - Canned meat such as salmon, sardines etc.
Fats
Butter, Margarine, vegetable oil and corn oil.
Mayonnaise, Sandwich spread, and peanut butter
Sweets
No sweets made out of milk and Eggs
All avoid like ice cream, chocolates , etc.
Miscellaneous
Salt, Vinegar, all-spices, cinnamon, Organic Acids, garlic, onion, nutmeg and cloves
Patis, Bagoong, Tomato, Catsup, Condiments with unknown ingredients
